Project Description
Sleep and Dream was written in October of 2008 for my grand-daughter, Chanel.
As a voice teacher and conductor of young choristers, I have a very special interest in vocal and aural pedagogy.
The piece was written with younger singers in mind, sitting comfortably as it does in the middle of the voice and within a range of one octave. It includes repetitive ideas and most of the song can be sung in solfa. The piece is essentially a lullaby in triple time, the first section being in unison and the second moving into two parts.
