Project Description
Panis Dei is dedicated to Cantamus Girls Choir and Pamela Cook, Mansfield, Notts, England.
During my Churchill Fellowship in 2001, I spent a week with Cantamus Girls Choir, observing the wonderfully inspiring work of their conductor, Pamela Cook, as she moulded and blended their voices into a myriad of contrasting choral tones. The warmth and evocative nature of the young voices inspired this rondo form setting of the Panis Dei, with a homophonic ritornello theme and a contrapuntal second episode.
This piece is available in SSAA and TTBB settings.
